"Free" Ringtone and Text Message Cell Phone Services
Potential Class Action Investigation

Chimicles & Tikellis LLP is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of consumers who have paid for ringtone, text message, graphics, games, and other cell phone services that were advertised as "free." Numerous entities advertise "free" ringtone and text messaging services that can be downloaded and used on cellular phones. In many cases, however, there is nothing "free" about these services. In addition, it has been reported that the charges for these "free" services are not clear on consumers’ cell phone bills. AT&T Mobility, the nation’s largest cell phone carrier, recently entered into an agreement with the Florida Attorney General to reimburse its customers for its alleged role in charging consumers for these "free" services. C&T is investigating whether other cell phone service providers have engaged in similar conduct.
