Starbucks Tip Pooling
Potential Class Action Investigation

Chimicles & Tikellis LLP is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of current and former Baristas who have been employed by Starbucks and have allegedly been required to share the proceeds of in-store tips with, among others, the shift supervisors and managers. Certain states make it unlawful for an employer to require non-managerial employees to share the proceeds of their tips with supervisors and managers. C&T is investigating whether Starbucks nevertheless has a policy or practice of requiring its Baristas to split the proceeds of tips collected at stores with managers and/or shift supervisors.
